Johnny Breaks Chicago Johnny Breaks Chicago (aka Johnny B) has been pushing the breakbeat scene longer than anyone in his home town ‘Chicago, IL’. Starting on turntables at the age of 10 he quickly took hold of freestyle and house music. House music and freestyle has it's roots planted deep within the city walls. It seemed splicing tapes together during the house and freestyle mixes was just another way for him to keep the ‘funk’ going.
