Filtro Medusa is a female fronted progressive metal band from Panamá. The band has its beginnings in 2001, when the guitar players Gerardo Pesantez and Juan Arciria had an idea to create a musical symbiosis of hard rock and alternative rock. They invited the drummer Wilson Rodriguez, who was later replaced by Franz Morales and later David Quintero. Aleko Cadavid was invited to play bass. Bethy Garcia is the band's vocalist since 2003. In 2005, 2006 and 2007 Filtro Medusa won the Best Alternative Band award of PanamaRock.
