1. Fear of God was an American heavy metal band founded in Los Angeles, California, in 1989. The band was the brainchild of thrash metal band Détente, being formed by former members Dawn Crosby and Michael Carlino. The origins of Fear of God can be traced back to the final days of Détente. After relocating to the East Coast and recording the band’s 1989 demo, the duo faced multiple line-up changes, including the departure of bassist Rob Hunter and the arrival of Eric Alpert and later Steve Cordova.
