Escape Time, based in Brooklyn, NY, was formed in 2009 by Chris Castelli (Drums & Micromoog) and Peter Smiloff (Guitar). In 2010, Eric Steinberg joined on Bass. In 2012, Eric left the band and was replaced by Russ Posluszny. Pete and Chris began by writing in a very stream-of-collective-consciousness kind of way, just playing what came to mind for hours at a time and organizing these streams into songs later.
