Dual Ark was formed in early 2009 by Amit Adar and Adiel Luk, in Tel Aviv, Israel. The two met while working as sound engineers in a rehearsal studio in tel aviv. Both of them were accomplished sound engineers each in his own field Adiel in synths and programing and Amit in acoustic recordings. Both of them were also respected songwriters. After listening to each other's music they decided to join forces and formed Dual Ark. The name came about when
