The band was formed in 2002 in Tokyo, Japan. Band's birthday is officially celebrated on April 12 (which is also Luke Takamura's birthday). Their official profile at MySpace says: "CANTA means 'singing' in Italian. The name represents the screaming of Luke’s soul.
