Assane Ndiaye

Assane Ndiaye, is a highly acclaimed Senegalese artist, author, composer, singer, and percussionist, raised in a family of griots. Despite initial objections from his parents, he frequented rehearsals of his brother Thione Seck's group, Raam Daan, which ignited his passion for music. Following a brief period of service in the Senegalese army and gendarmerie, he fully embraced his musical calling in 1985 and became a part of Raam Daan. Assane honed his percussion skills, becoming the group's drummer.
